Rhonda Ready To Kick Up Her Heels

Updated: Nov 19, 2021

IF you think you know Rhonda Burchmore, then you might just be in for a surprise during her show in Hobart tonight.

The Australian performer will hit the stage at the Theatre Royal as her alter ego ‘Ruda Brickmore” to perform a sultry collection of songs from her new show Vinyl Viagra.

‘It’s something I’ve never done before,” Burchmore said. ‘It’s a new Rhonda.’It’s like the wicked, evil side of Rhonda Burchmore.”

The entertainer said the idea for the show came from her good friend Kate Ceberano.

‘She said, -we want you to do something really different’, so I went out on a bit of a limb,” Burchmore said.

She will perform songs by singers including Shirley Bassey, Madonna and Lady Gaga that incorporated various elements of burlesque and cabaret.

‘I channel these girls,” Burchmore said. ‘It is a journey and a romp of very empowered women.”

Burchmore will be joined on stage by dancing troupe ‘the Rudettes” and a four-piece band for her first performance at the Theatre Royal.

‘It’s one of the most beautiful theatres and I know my show is going to fit it like a little glove,” she said.

Vinyl Viagra starts at 7.30pm.
