Max Verstappen has labelled his last win at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix as one of the best of his career.
The reigning triple World Champion stormed from 17th on the grid to win his first race in nearly five months at the last round in Brazil, setting himself up for a fourth consecutive World Championship which he can claim in Las Vegas this weekend.
Speaking to The Roar in the Las Vegas paddock, Verstappen said the win was also among the most important he has ever had.
“(It was) one of the best,” he said.
“It’s hard to judge which one actually is your best because sometimes your best race doesn’t even need to be a win. It depends on all the different factors.
“I find it always very difficult to rank them, but I think if you look at how important it was, the race result, I think it was definitely one of the most important ones in my career.”

In that period, his gap at the top of the World Championship had been slowly whittled down by Lando Norris, with the McLaren driver proving to have the fastest overall package and taking two wins in the same period.
However, with his win in Sao Paulo Verstappen opened up a 62-point lead over Norris, with the Dutchman only needing to finish ahead of Norris in Las Vegas this weekend to claim his fourth World Championship.
Verstappen said that although the pressure had been released slightly with his drought-breaking win, the Championship still hadn’t been decided.
“I want to always do well every single weekend,” he said.
“It’s not necessarily about the Championship, I’m just trying to enjoy the weekend as well, trying to see how competitive we can be.
“The championship isn’t decided yet, so there are still points that need to be scored.”
