Can anyone stop McLaren? It seems unlikely, which of course means these power rankings is all about the numbers below first.
Before we find out more on those numbers, the usual disclaimer. You know the drill, these are all subjective and based mainly on my (incredibly smart) opinion mixed with form and on-track results, meaning it is a generally subjective list that holds no real weight except for the large basis of fact I like to think I can generate.
So with that in mind, let’s get to the rankings!
10. Kick Sauber (-)
Nico Hulkenberg actually had a very solid weekend in Miami, nearly scoring points in both the sprint and main race. Other than that, their weekend was about as exciting as their attempted new livery.
9. Aston Martin (-)
Lance Stroll gave an amazing wet weather drive in the sprint to score a bulk of unexpected points that nobody even mentioned. Fernando Alonso meanwhile continues to struggle and remains on zero points.

8. Haas (-)
They showed up and raced. That was about all I can say about them this weekend.
7. Racing Bulls (-1)
Somewhat disappointing weekend for the team who are sort of stuck in a weird fight with Alpine and Haas for that team that can get a point every now and then. Just seems to change each weekend which team that is.
6. Alpine (+1)
Gets the move up because Pierre Gasly got a point in the sprint race.
5. Ferrari (-3)
Wow. How quickly they fall. It’s harsh in one way because knowing Ferrari they’ll come back and do really well at Imola randomly and give some hope for five minutes. But based on Miami, there’s no way this position can be any higher.
4. Red Bull (-)
Seemingly stuck in fourth right now. They aren’t doing anything wrong, one driver is carrying them while the other slowly finds their feet. It’s just other teams around them are doing more to impress.
3. Williams (+2)
They are really starting to find their groove as a team and starting to get some very good points together. The fact they were competing closely and mostly beating Ferrari all weekend is a very positive sign for them moving forward.
2. Mercedes (+1)
They just continue to remain solidly consistent if not basic and boring in the background. But there’s nothing wrong with that as they are getting points, (sprint) poles and podiums which is more than most.

1. McLaren (-)
The last time McLaren won five of the opening six races of the season was 1998 when they did the Championship double. Signs are looking good for them to achieve the same feat in 2025.
What do you think of this list? Which order would you currently rank the teams in? Let me know your thoughts below!
