Round 5 F1 team power rankings: Williams climb as champagne tasted by those in red

As Papaya power continues to shine up the front, there is a certain team in blue that is creeping up the rankings. There were also some new champagne flavours tasted at Ferrari, as other teams continue to find their feet.

With all that in mind, a quick disclaimer as usual before we get to the updated power rankings. You know the drill, these are all subjective and based mainly on my (incredibly smart) opinion mixed with form and on-track results, meaning it is a generally subjective list that holds no real weight except for the large basis of fact I like to think I can generate.

So with that in mind, let’s get to the rankings!

10. Kick Sauber (-)

With Lance Stroll putting it out there about McLaren drivers being in a Sauber, maybe they’ll be hoping to see just how they would do in their 2025 car? They surely couldn’t do any worse, could they?

9. Aston Martin (-)

Speaking of Stroll, he and Fernando Alonso continue to struggle in a car that just looks nowhere. Alonso got close to points, but still remains on a golden duck for the season so far. Not where he thought he would be at this point in the season.

8. Haas (-2)

A quiet weekend by the team but still an overall solid showing. Drops back purely due to those around them going up.

7. Alpine (-2)

Points were possible from Gasly had he not been taken out at the first corner, but sadly it wasn’t to be for the French team.

6. Racing Bulls (+2)

A better showing by Lawson and more points for Hadjar who is proving to be one of the stars of the season so far.

5. Williams (+2)

Double points for Williams in Saudi brings them their best start to a F1 season in nearly a decade. Hopefully the form of Sainz can continue and bring them further up the grid.

4. Red Bull (-)

If Verstappen had of discovered how to navigate a corner at the start this weekend, he very much could’ve brought Red Bull another unlikely win in 2025. Still, second was a great result for the team.

3. Mercedes (-)

Bringing in points when they are needed to maintain their overall position in the Championship.

2. Ferrari (-)

You just know that as soon as Hamilton can get his car to work, they will be way more consistent up the front of the field. A deserved podium finally came, a massive positive for the team.

1. McLaren (-)

Another race of dominance, by one driver at least. Don’t look like being challenged properly any time soon.

What do you think of this list? Which order would you currently rank the teams in? Let me know your thoughts below!
