This championship was meant to be close right? Well so far it hasn’t exactly sprung many surprises, as McLaren continue to dominate and the teams behind try to find answers.

How will that change the power rankings? Before we get to that, the usual disclaimer. If you’ve read these before, you know the drill. These are all subjective and based mainly on my (incredibly smart) opinion mixed with form and on-track results, meaning it is a generally subjective list that holds no real weight except for the large basis of fact I like to think I can generate.

So with all that in mind, let’s get to the rankings.

10. Kick Sauber (-1)

From the highs of Australia to right back to where they perhaps belong in China. There’s not much to say about them other than they finished both races and had no real issues. Pace needs to improve though.

9. Alpine (-2)

It’s hard to get a real read on Alpine right now. They’re not slow, but they’re also not as quick as maybe many were expecting. They’ll be an interesting team to follow in the coming rounds.

8. Aston Martin (-)

Similar to Alpine in many aspects, the difference is they are scoring points, whereas Alpine are the only team so far in 2025 not to score any. A solid yet unspectacular weekend from the green team.

7. Williams (-5)

Dropping this low seems maybe a bit harsh, but also does come down to the improvement of others around them. It was a double points finish for the team, but Sainz only managed a point after the three DQ’s ahead of him. Still look decent for the most part.

6. Haas (+4)

Where the hell did that come from? After look terrible in Australia, they all of a sudden found some pace and ended up with a double points finish in China. Very hard to read, but very entertaining to watch.

5. Racing Bulls (-1)

Seem to have so much pace early on in the weekend, before strategy calls and race pace let them down on the Sunday. Once they get everything together, should be the best of the rest by far.

4. Red Bull (+2)

Well at least one driver is able to make this team look good right now. When you have Max Verstappen at the wheel, that is always going to happen.

3. Mercedes (-)

Mercedes feel like they are just there right? They come along, get a nice bit of pace, hide around in the race and somehow end up with a podium and solid points. They’ll definitely take that this early in the season.

2. Ferrari (+3)

Get the jump up to second based on their sprint performance and solid race performance before their unfortunate disqualification. Need to find something more come Japan and beyond if this title challenge is to materialise.

1. McLaren (-)

Dominant is the word to best describe them right now. Should really be three from three and three from three 1-2s as well. But they still have shown why they are the team to beat in 2025.

What do you think of this list? Which order would you currently rank the teams in? Let me know your thoughts below!
