American Idol star Adam Lambert hits Hobart, and he wants an encore

Updated: Nov 19, 2021

AMERICAN pop superstar Adam Lambert was only in Hobart for a day but wants to return.

The former American Idol runner-up who has sold more than two million albums and five million singles worldwide flew in to perform a “secret show” at Frogmore Creek Winery yesterday.

Lambert said he had relished his short time in the city. “It is so beautiful here,” he told the Mercury. “I’ve never been to Tasmania. I’m just blown away, the air is so clean, everybody is very friendly.”

Lambert performed a short acoustic set including his recent hits Ghost Town, The Original High and Whataya Want from Me.

Having just wrapped up his national tour, he said he hoped he could bring his next Australian tour to Tasmania.

The performance headlined radio station Sea FM’s rebranding event as it changed its name to Hit 100.9.

The rebranding makes the station the second regional radio station after Canberra’s Hit 104.7 to align with other metro markets as part of the Southern Cross Austereo Hit Network.
